Breaking News Sassa Is Not In Favor Of Bringing Back Food Parcels
In a public statement, the South African Social Security Agency stated that it does not support the reinstatement of food parcel distribution.According to the agency, there are more effective and efficient ways of providing assistance and support to those experiencing poverty and food insecurity.
Instead, SASSA has committed to supporting existing initiatives and systems that ensure that all South Africans have access to adequate nutrition, such as the National School Nutrition Programme, which provides daily meals to millions of learners in public schools.
As well as providing monthly grants and cash transfers to those in need, SASSA is actively exploring other innovative solutions to combat food insecurity.Achieving adequate nutrition and food security for all South Africans is the agency’s ultimate goal.
