NSFAS provides funding for tuition fees, accommodation, and study materials, among other things. The program is available to South African citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate studies at public universities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges.

NSFAS, or the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, is now accepting applications for Trimester 2 bursaries. There is a different application period for NSFAS than for universities.TVET College students who wish to apply for funding through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) for Trimester 2 can now do so. NSFAS applications are now open for Trimester 2.
NSFAS Applications Closing Dates
Applications will close on 22 May 2023, giving applicants two and a half weeks to submit their applications. Get your application in now before it’s too late!According to NSFAS, the application method for all remaining cycles of 2023 will remain the same as that used during the first cycle. Students must apply online for NSFAS.

- Visit the NSFAS website
- Go to the ‘myNSFAS’ tab.
- Sign up for a myNSFAS account.
- On the ‘APPLY’ tab, complete the sections.
- When applicable, upload the required supporting documents.
- Submit the form by clicking ‘Submit’
