NSFAS Applications That Were Pending Have Been Processed
NSFAS Applications That Were Pending Have Been Processed. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has made significant progress in finalizing funding confirmations for students in the 2023 academic year. This development brings relief to many students who have anxiously awaited the outcome of their “Pending” funding status.
NSFAS Applications That Were Pending Have Been Processed
In a recent statement, NSFAS announced that all student funding applicants with “Pending” statuses have been thoroughly assessed. The scheme assures students that the outcomes of these assessments will be reflected on their myNSFAS profiles.
Applicants previously labeled as “pending decisions” have now undergone evaluation, and their updated statuses are visible on the NSFAS portal. Students who have successfully secured funding will find their names on the funding list. However, unsuccessful applicants are encouraged to lodge an appeal by submitting the necessary supporting documents.
If you find yourself in need of lodging a NSFAS appeal, please follow the steps below:
- Visit the NSFAS website and navigate to the “myNSFAS” section.
- Log in to your myNSFAS account using your ID number and password.
- Proceed to the “Track Funding Progress” tab and review the application progress.
- If your application status indicates an unsuccessful outcome, click on the “Submit Appeal” tab.
- On the “Application Appeal” page, you will find the reason for your application’s rejection.
- Select the appropriate appeal reason and provide certified supporting documents to substantiate your case.
- Once you have uploaded the required documents, click on “Submit Appeal” to finalize the process.
Which a Nsfas Appeal Is Not Applicable
Please note that there are specific circumstances in which a NSFAS appeal is not applicable. Rejected applicants who do not have the option to appeal on their myNSFAS profile should understand that their applications were rejected for valid reasons that cannot be appealed. The following situations do not qualify for a NSFAS appeal:
- Enrollment in a qualification that NSFAS does not fund
- Exceeding the N+2 limit (or N+3 for students with disabilities)
- Being a gap year student previously denied financial aid by NSFAS due to not meeting the academic eligibility criteria
NSFAS emphasizes that appeals are still being processed. However, a considerable number of students who lodged appeals failed to provide the necessary supporting documents, causing delays in the processing of their appeals.
Applicants falling into this category will receive an SMS notification from NSFAS, requesting them to submit the required supporting documents within 10 working days. Failure to comply within the given timeframe will result in the closure of their appeal. For further information regarding the NSFAS bursary, applications, and the latest updates, please visit our dedicated NSFAS page.
