A finance and administration internship program is being offered by the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda).

The Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) provides non-financial support to small businesses and cooperatives in South Africa.With 53 branches, including 46 co-location points, Seda has by far the largest network of offices in the country.

As part of its mission, the association develops, supports and promotes small businesses throughout the country, ensuring their growth and sustainability through coordination and partnership with a variety of stakeholders, including global partners who make international best practices available to local entrepreneurs.

The following internship opportunity is open at Seda.

JOB TITLE

  •  Finance and Administration Intern

LOCATION

  • Western Cape -Provincial Office (Cape Town)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Providing appropriate and relevant work experience in accordance with the intern’s qualifications is the purpose of the internship program

KEY PERFORMANCE

  • Claims processing

  • Administration and support

  • Liaising with internal customers
  • Procurement Administration

REQUIRED MINIMUM

  • Matric (level 4)/Grade 12 and
  • Degree /National Diploma in

EDUCATION

  • NQF Level 6 in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting and/or Financial Management

REQUIRED WORK

  • Not applicable

EXPERIENCE

  • Able to demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of accounting duties
  • Knowledge of MS Office

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Planning and organising skills
  • Communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Aptitude for financial management and /or budgeting
  • High level of accuracy in data entry
  • Time management
  • Ability to move through systems quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
