Have you applied for a Sassa SRD grant? These are the reasons why certain SRD grant applications received an ‘Identity Verification Failed’ status.
What To Do About ‘Identity Verification Failed’ SRD Status
SASSA verifies the applicant’s details with the Department of Home Affairs before approving SRD grant applications. An ‘Identity Verification Failed’ status indicates that Sassa found that the applicant’s information did not match that of the Department of Home Affairs.
When considering applicants’ applications, the agency processes their details through several different databases. The Department of Home Affairs runs the applicant’s name, surname, and ID number first.
The decision can be appealed by applicants who believe that their application was unfairly denied. The SRD grant application will then need to be reconsidered by Sassa.Within 30 days of receiving a rejection status, the applicant must file an appeal on the Sassa website.
